Annotation:

The study is dedicated to detecting and describing the subjective assessment of the hazards of professional situations by hauling forest drivers of a logging company in the Far North with different driving experiences. The study was conducted during two visits to the subdivisions of the logging company in the Arkhangelsk region in March and April 2024. 108 hauling forest motor vehicle drivers, males, of the age from 21 to 68 (43,89 ± 10,84), with professional driving experience from 1 month to 47 years, working in shifts, participated in the study. The research methods are questionnaires to estimate hazards of 19 professional situations by drivers of 5 groups associated with insufficiency of skills and knowledge, health status and condition of a driver, violations of occupational safety requirements and a road situation, and the assessment of professional efficiency and safety parameters. The statistical analysis has been conducted using descriptive statistics and multivariate analysis of variance using SPSS 26.00. As a result of the study, statistically significant differences in subjective assessments of hazards of professional situations by hauling forest motor vehicle drivers with different driving experiences have been established. Higher estimates of situational hazards were given by drivers with driving experiences of more than three years whereas the lower estimates were given by drivers with experience of less than a year. It has been identified that statistically different assessments of situations are associated with insufficient skills and knowledge, driver’s conditions, and road conditions for hauling forest motor vehicle drivers with different driving experiences. Situations associated with driver’s health and violations of occupational safety requirements have not statistically differed between groups and proved to be low-risk for drivers irrespective of their driving experience.
