Annotation:

The study focuses on the social & economic, and environmental & economic importance of occupational safety and its practical implementation. The economic importance of occupational safety is expressed through the health and employability maintenance of the economically active population at the highest possible level, an increase in the job performance and professional activity of employees, a guarantee of social security for the injured at work and their family members, and mitigating social losses during production activities. The essence of occupational safety ensuring mechanisms at an enterprise is considered based on the analysis of approaches to employment safety management. According to the study, some risks are within the group of typical risks, whose generation is caused by malfunction causes or the absence of employment discipline of an employee. Certain production risks, whose consequences negatively affect employees, can be classified as a group of environmental risks, as during an emergency at an enterprise, environmental contamination is possible. Economic tools are recommended to use in order to diagnose labor safety risk reduction, in particular, based on the method of SWOT analysis to determine the competitive position of an enterprise in the target market and identify potential threats within the enterprise’s activities in order to detect potential production and environmental risks. A method of АВС analysis is also proposed to use with the purpose of detecting the most hazardous spheres of enterprise non-core activities for an employee in order to outsource them as one of the methods of occupational safety improvement at an enterprise.
