The goal of the study is to conduct production testing of a pilot model of a continuous remote monitoring system for soil contamination by electrically contrasting petroleum products. The tests were conducted in conditions of Siberia and the Far North. The total number of sensors was 140, and, depending on the monitoring conditions, linear or area-based, one- or two-level schemes of their installation were used. Monitoring results are stable for areas with low contamination levels; fluctuations in the registered contamination level are within the range of Kз = 40–105 mg/kg, whereas the deviation from control measurements using a fluorometric method is 7.4–32.5 mg/kg (10.3–25.8 %). The greatest range of variation in local contamination is observed in the “Oil Trap” sector of the production facility in conditions of the Far North, where, during intense groundwater filtration, the petroleum product is washed out to a level Kз < 20 mg/kg. During the period of subzero temperatures, the processes of contaminant inflow into the soil are interlocked due to the pore space being blocked by ice, and sensor readings stabilize. In the sectors with a high initial level of oil contamination in the near-surface level, the Kз value is stable and does not exceed 700 mg/kg, whereas in the lower sand-gravel layer, due to the intense groundwater filtration during 12 months, the contamination intensity varies within the range of Kз = 900–5200 mg/kg, which is determined by the ratio of water and pore space petroleum filler.
