Results of a comprehensive study aimed at improving the electrical safety of personnel when operating digital substations within the structure of power supply industrial systems are provided. Electrotechnical, informational, and organizational risk factors generating hazardous conditions in the digital environment have been considered. Experimental and computational studies provided quantitative assessments of residual voltages, leakage currents, and remote-control mismatches. The efficiency of implementing interlocking algorithms, indication means, and measures to equalize potentials is substantiated. The obtained results are industrially significant for oil and gas industry enterprises, metallurgy, and the mining industry, where digital substations ensure power supply for continuous workflows. The practical implementation of such solutions reduces electrical risks, increases the reliability of electrical power supply, and improves the safe operating conditions of equipment at industrial facilities.
