The study provides the substantiation and testing of the intelligent monitoring system aiming at improving the safe operation of electric quarry excavators in open-pit mining conditions. The study was conducted in an operating coal mine, using machine learning algorithms to detect abnormalities in current, temperature, and vibration parameters. As shown, the early identification of deviations helps reduce the probability of failures, decrease the number of overload cycles, and lower the integral production risk. The obtained results are of high industrial significance for the coal and mining industries, where the reliability of the quarry equipment determines the sustainability of the workflow. The implementation of AI monitoring facilitates the transition to a proactive risk management model and reduces the injury rate at enterprises engaged in open-pit mining operations.
