The study presents the results of an analysis of the causes of electrical injuries at electricity generation and distribution facilities. Based on the examination of an operating section of a 6–10 kV distribution network and a five-year incident review, the structure of technical and organizational factors affecting the formation of industrial risk has been established. As shown, the combined nature of the causes is dominant, whereas deviations in the insulation and contact connection parameters significantly increase the probability of accidents. The industrial significance of regular control of the technical condition of equipment and compliance with work-permit procedures has been substantiated. The obtained results are practically relevant for power engineering enterprises and for the metallurgical and chemical industries operating their own distribution networks, and aim to increase the reliability and safety of industrial processes.
