Scope of Scientific Research
Energy efficiency, energy saving, nuclear energy and critical technologies: technologies of new and renewed energy sources including hydrogen energy; technologies of energy-saving systems of energy transportation, distribution, and use.
Direct leadership in the development of the following scientific areas: comprehensive investigation and calculation of water and energy resources of high-pressure and small hydropower plants; energy survey (energy audit) of power consumers of large-scale industrial enterprises; survey of electric power quality indices; investigation, analysis, and forecast of structural reliability of electric power system (including hydropower plants).
The range of scientific research is an expanded fundamental scientific area dedicated to increasing the efficiency of power use, improving electric power quality indices at industrial enterprises, and studying water and energy resources, static and dynamic stability of high-altitude hydropower plants. Specific attention is paid to the matters of stable operation of a power system at the cascade of Zamarac hydropower plants commissioned in 2020.
Expert in the field of power safety at enterprises of the mining and processing industry.

A scientific school in the field of increasing the efficiency of power use in various industrial sectors and ensuring comprehensive electric power safety has been established under the guidance of Roman Kluyev; more than 600 energy experts have graduated.
