Professional experience
1978–2000 — State Research Institute of Aviation Systems (GosNIIAS), went from the engineer to the first deputy head of the Institute, defended his PhD and doctoral dissertations, headed the «Center for Microelectronics of the Aviation Industry». Later he worked in the Government of the Russian Federation holding various government positions;
Since 2003 — Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), since 2016 — Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Department of Energy, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanics and Control Processes);
2009–2015 — Director General of FGPU TsAGI; then he went to work at the United Aircraft Corporation (PAO UAK).
At present, he is a member of the Board of Directors of PAO UAK, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Scientific Director of the NITs «Institute named after Zhukovsky», co-chairman of the International Supervisory Board of the NTsMU «Supersonic».

in the field of mechanics: stability of the movement of mechanical systems; motion control of mechanical systems, theory of gyroscopic and navigation systems; intelligent dynamic systems;
in the field of control theory: embedded intelligent systems and control systems; navigation, guidance and control of moving objects; complexation and processing of information in the technical systems;
in the field of computer science, including information and telecommunication technologies, robotics: algorithmic and software; image analysis, computer vision; systems and technologies for data mining and pattern recognition; specialized systems for processing and analyzing images and signals; means of numerical modeling.

Scientific achievements and awards
Laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology, awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, IV degree, and the Order of Honor; Honorary Diploma of the Government of the Russian Federation; medal «In memory of the 850th anniversary of Moscow»; has the title of «Honorary Aircraft Builder». Under the leadership of B.S. Alyoshin, a scientific school in the field of navigation instrumentation was developed, more than 400 graduates were trained.
