Annotation:

The key tendencies of the transition of mining enterprises to digital technologies and their impact on ensuring industrial safety have been considered. As shown, the established supervision regulations based on inspections do not ensure the required timely results in the existing industrial safety management systems. The need for the implementation of multifunctional safety systems and industrial safety remote control systems able to transmit hazard indices values, classify pre-emergency and antecedent events, and initiate preventive actions is substantiated. A set of amendments to the Federal norms and rules introducing mandatory equipping of underground mines with such systems and determining their minimum functional requirements has been proposed. The economic calculations show that reducing unscheduled downtime and damage caused by accidents compensates for expenses on the digitalization already in the first three years of operation.
