Annotation:

According to statistical analysis provided by the Social Fund of Russia, the basic cause of industrial injuries is a human factor. Despite state-level measures taken to reduce it, the rate remains high. In many respects, this is a consequence of a superficial attitude toward occupational safety among management and personnel in enterprises. To increase management's interest in addressing occupational safety issues, sectoral seminars are required to establish an understanding of the importance of paying attention to the issue. At the seminars, it should be demonstrated that effective occupational safety measures enable an enterprise to boost production and achieve economic benefits.
It is also necessary to involve personnel in addressing occupational safety problems, increase responsibility for meeting occupational safety rules, and ensure compliance with production and process discipline requirements. For these purposes, it is essential to establish a safety culture, train personnel to identify dynamic risks at the workplace, and hazards that can develop into emergencies and cause human losses.
Different methods can be used to train enterprise personnel: seminars involving detailed analysis of accident causes, occupational safety games, films, etc. It is also possible to conduct behavioral audits that will help identify typical errors in personnel actions and develop recommendations for safer working methods. Purposeful work with management and personnel will help establish conscious safety, decrease industrial injuries, and improve the financial indices of enterprise operation.
