The main regularities of deforming and loading tape pillars in case of sequential mining of bedded deposits by blocks are considered. As a result of numerical modeling by the finite-element method the pillars loading is estimated, i.e. the values of coefficients of concentration of vertical stresses in them are obtained. The values of these coefficients depend on the number of pillars in the mineable block, and on the location of pillar in it as well. For the coefficients of concentration by approximation of the calculated data, the relevant analytical ratios are obtained. It is shown that the loading of pillars is much less than the values corresponding to L. D. Shevyakov hypothesis on loading of pillars by full weight of rocks to a day surface. It allows for speaking about formation of some «dummy» set of pressure envelope above the mineable block, unloading of tape pillars and transfer of some part of load on the edge parts of layer or barrier pillars.
