Glass building structures are gaining widespread use due to the modern trends in interior design; at the same time, glazing types with the properties meeting certain production requirements are offered. Glass is installed both as exterior walls and internal partitions in order to segment the space. As an element of a production premise, glass partitions ensure sound insulation of the operator’s workplace, and provide an option to observe the production situation without contacting with harmful production factors. Therefore, in some cases, glass structures can be considered safety barriers, if aesthetic aspects are not taken into account.
Glass as an alternative to metal, ferroconcrete, stone, and other structures has a number of advantages such as corrosion resistance and durability, easy installation and maintenance, guaranteed toxic-free composition of products as well as energy efficiency and sufficient stability and strength.
At the same time, glass structures must comply with a certain list of additional requirements from the client that often include fire- and explosion-resistance at production.
