The study has analyzed accidents, injuries, and fatalities at hazardous production facilities in the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2016–2021. Statistical data on accidents, injuries, fatalities, and accident frequency coefficients distributed among industries have been considered. Specific attention has been paid to the causes of injuries, including violations of technical and organizational safety measures. The analysis has used statistical methods, including average indices and injury frequency. This helped identify key issues and propose measures for their elimination. The focus was made on high-risk industries, i.e., power, coal, mining & metallurgical, and oil industries, where hazards are associated with heavy equipment, high temperatures and pressures, chemicals, and natural factors. The study encompasses various production facilities of increased hazard and proposes recommendations on improving occupational safety. The main issues are frequent accidents and violations of safety norms in the above-mentioned industries. The study underlines the need for a systemic approach, including regular drills, improvement of working conditions, upgrading equipment, and implementing monitoring technologies. The example of the JSC Uzmetkombinat shows that an efficient safety system reduces risks. It is proposed to enforce control over the compliance with safety requirements, provide personnel training, increase the company’s top management responsibility in the sphere of safety, and estimate risks on a regular basis. The comprehensive sectoral approach to the control over compliance with safety norms and requirements will help reduce injuries and fatalities in production.
