The results of the theoretical analysis of the terminology for the description of professional risks in the Republic of Kazakhstan are given. It is found out that in the Labour Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan the term «risk» is used, but there is no its definition. The legislative base of the Republic of Kazakhstan does not apply the term «professional risk». The theoretical analysis was carried out by comparison of the nomenclature accepted in the Republic of Kazakhstan for definition of risk in the field of safety and labor protection with the terms which are contained in the national and interstate standards, laws of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. This research — the basis for formation of the nomenclature in the field of definition of professional risk. Scientifically well-grounded terminology can be used for recommendation of its introduction to the normative base of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
